NikeSKIMS activewear line to launch this week
Nike and Skims Unveil Highly Anticipated Activewear Line
Nike’s long-awaited activewear line with Skims, Kim Kardashian’s intimates brand, is finally set to launch this week. The partnership, dubbed NikeSKIMS, was initially announced in February, with a planned launch in the spring. However, due to internal production delays, the launch was pushed back to this week. The new line is a key part of Nike’s strategy to win over more female shoppers and regain market share from competitors like Lululemon, Vuori, and Alo Yoga.
The NikeSKIMS line will feature three core collections: Matte, Shine, and Airy, which will be updated seasonally. The collections will include around 40 new styles and pieces that can be worn both in and outside of the gym. In addition to the core apparel line, NikeSKIMS will also debut a handful of seasonal collections, including a vintage line and layering pieces that can be used to create an activewear look. The launch will be supported by a marketing campaign featuring top female athletes, including Serena Williams, Sha’Carri Richardson, Jordan Chiles, and Chloe Kim.
A Strategic Partnership
The partnership between Nike and Skims is a strategic move by Nike to expand its reach in the activewear market. Under new CEO Elliott Hill, Nike is working to bring sports and athletes back into the center of its strategy, while also catering to the growing demand for lifestyle apparel. The partnership with Skims helps Nike achieve this goal, as it combines the company’s performance technology with Skims’ lifestyle focus. Skims, which was last valued at $4 billion, will also benefit from the partnership, gaining access to Nike’s manufacturing and development capabilities and expanding its growth opportunities.
The launch of NikeSKIMS is part of Nike’s broader commitment to women, according to Nike President Amy Montagne. The company is working to create a platform that will allow it to grow and reach consumers worldwide, while also setting a new benchmark for the activewear industry. With the launch of NikeSKIMS, Nike is poised to take a significant step forward in the activewear market, and it will be interesting to see how the partnership evolves in the coming months.
A New Benchmark for Activewear
According to Skims CEO Jens Grede, NikeSKIMS is “more than a collaboration – it’s a new brand redefining activewear.” The partnership is expected to establish a new standard for the industry, with a focus on performance, lifestyle, and innovation. With the launch of NikeSKIMS, Nike and Skims are poised to make a significant impact on the activewear market, and it will be exciting to see how the brand evolves in the coming years. As the activewear market continues to grow, NikeSKIMS is well-positioned to become a major player, offering high-quality, stylish, and functional apparel for women who demand the best.
