General Motors Set to Report Q4 and Year-End Earnings
As the automotive industry continues to evolve, General Motors is gearing up to release its fourth-quarter and year-end earnings report on Tuesday. The company’s global headquarters in Detroit will be the focal point of attention as investors and analysts eagerly await the announcement. According to a survey of analysts by LSEG, Wall Street is expecting significant numbers from the automaker.
Expected Earnings and Revenue
The consensus estimate for General Motors’ earnings per share is $2.20 adjusted, while revenue is expected to reach $45.8 billion. If these numbers hold true, it would represent a 4% decline in revenue compared to the same period last year, but a notable 14% increase in adjusted earnings per share. For context, GM’s 2024 fourth-quarter results included $47.7 billion in revenue, a net loss of roughly $3 billion, and adjusted earnings before interest and taxes of $2.5 billion.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, General Motors is expected to record $7.1 billion in special charges related to its strategic shift in electric vehicles and restructuring efforts in China. Although these charges will impact the company’s net income, they will not affect adjusted results. This move is part of the company’s broader efforts to adapt to the changing automotive landscape and prioritize its investments in emerging technologies.
Guidance and Outlook for 2026
Beyond the company’s Q4 performance, investors will be closely watching General Motors’ guidance for 2026. Earlier this month, CEO Mary Barra reaffirmed the company’s optimism about the upcoming year, stating that 2026 is expected to outperform 2025. The company’s 2025 guidance included adjusted earnings before interest and taxes of between $12 billion and $13 billion, or $9.75 to $10.50 adjusted EPS, and adjusted automotive free cash flow of $10 billion to $11 billion.
As the automotive industry continues to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by electrification, autonomous driving, and global market trends, General Motors’ earnings report will provide valuable insights into the company’s strategy and performance. The earnings conference call, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. EST, will offer further details and commentary from GM executives, shedding light on the company’s vision for the future and its plans to drive growth and innovation in the years to come.
