“I believe business leaders should mentor youth generational dynamics because it develops leadership skills and fosters seamless succession,” Kent says. “This method of action transfers critical institutional wisdom from baby boomers to new-age employees. Additionally, it fosters mutual respect often times leading to better management, communication, and collaboration.”

“Young people deserve a chance to be mentored,” Kent says. “Mentoring is vital because it encourages a lifetime of service. If somebody witnesses you investing in them, chances are they will pass the torch when it’s their time to reach back and help someone else.”

Unlike many people who gain notoriety and then sit on it, Kent uses her platform to start thought-provoking conversations and innovative challenges encouraging people around the world to volunteer and participate in civic engagement.

“All leaders should be on deck if not already in motion. This is our time to enact change. Now is the time for us to be proactive with our strategies to help mitigate unforeseen challenges, remaining vigilant, curious, determined, and scale our impact,” Kent says.

Her most pressing initiative is developing next-generation leaders and she is invested in addressing training and giving back effectively.

“Here’s to life and working closely with international allies,” Kent says. “I would like to have a hand in nurturing talented teens around the world—to include coaching on taking strategic risks, standing out from the competition, and overcoming adversity.”

She has had an enormous advantage in reaching people with her incredible talent. Aside from her credentials as a Hall of Fame media personality, entertainer, and international award-winning author, Kent is the brainchild behind over 2,000 quotes—which have been widely circulated by nonprofits, corporations, universities, schools, advocacy groups, and a bevy of others.

Kent has demonstrated her talents in media, the arts and entertainment industry, academia, and corporate America where she previously served as an executive at two Fortune 500 companies.
